    SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- O.I. Corp. said Friday it has accepted for purchase 301,080 shares, or roughly 10.3% of its outstanding common stock, at a price of $14.50 each, for a total cost of $4.37 million. The company's modified Dutch auction self-tender offer expired on Monday. Shares of College Station, Texas-based O.I., which provides products used for chemical analysis, were unchanged in Friday morning trade at $12.75.

    SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- O.I. Corp. on Monday reported second-quarter net earnings of $302,000, or 10 cents a share, up from $198,000, or 7 cents a share, during the year-ago period. The College Station, Texas-based provider of products for chemical analysis said revenue for three months ended June 30 fell to $6.53 million from $6.62 million. Additionally, O.I.     SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- O.I. Corp. said Monday it plans to initiate a modified Dutch auction self-tender offer to purchase up to 300,000 of its shares at a price of $13 to $14.75 each. The College Station, Texas-based provider of chemical analysis products said it will need roughly $4.425 million to purchase the shares, assuming the price paid per share is the maximum of $14.75 each. The 300,000 shares represent roughly 10.3% of O.I.'s outstanding stock. O.I. shares rose 8.4% to $13.55 in Monday morning trade.

    O.I. Corp. named J. Bruce Lancaster chief executive officer and Donald P. Segers president and chief operating officer. Lancaster will remain chief financial officer. Promoted to general manager in 2001, Segers had been serving as acting president since January when former President and CEO William W. Botts was put on leave pending the results of a company investigation. Botts resigned in March after the investigation found he directly benefited from options backdating. O.I.
