Day Trading - Moving Averages vs Support and Resistance
When day trading the SP and Nasdaq futures, do you rely on your
moving averages more than your support & resistant areas?
During the first hour of trading, the support and resistance
zones on the SP and Nasdaq futures are the most important things
to watch. The moving averages have not yet had a chance to come
into play.
After that, if a trend is developing I watch several key
exponential and simple moving averages on the 2 minute, the 5
minute and the 13 minute SP and Nasdaq futures charts. ...

EMOTIONAL TRADING
THE ALCHEMIST by AL THOMAS EMOTIONAL TRADING The single most
expensive stock market trades are those made with emotions, but,
of course, you are not an emotional trader are you? Before you
bought that stock, mutual fund or Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) you
did your research to be sure that what you were buying would
return a good profit over the long haul. You bought it and over
time you look at it less and less. Ask yourself: when you
plunked down your hard earned money did you have any idea ...

Trading the T4
There is an old expression you may have heard - to 'gild the
lilly'. Basically, this means that if something is working fine,
don't attempt to 'fix it', or 'improve it'. Chances are you will
end up doing more harm than good. Nowhere is this more true than
in the cut and thrust arena of stock trading. And nowhere in the
world of the financial markets is this more clear than in the
release of the so-called 'T4 Trading Strategy'.
Way back in the dim and distant trading past (mid 1990's, in
fact!) ...

Trading For A Living - Part 2
In part 1 of this article I started to look at the financial
implications of giving up the day job to instead start trading
full time for a living. There are more than just monetary
considerations as we will see later, but for now, there are some
more costs to ponder.
More Costs!
Let's move on to equipment. Presumably you already have a PC and
internet connection by virtue of the fact you are reading this
on the internet. But are these both up to the job of trading
full time? Again the ...

The Investing Power Behind Randomizers
Reader,
Let's give out the definition of a 'RANDOMIZER':
"A 'profits randomizer' is an electronic investing mechanism,
that divides wealth with absolute justice." George Papazoglou -
Greece / 2004.
Let me ask you a question...
Can you name me ONE investing SYSTEM that distributes 'wealth'
so fast, justifiably and utterly?
What would happen if King Solomon decided to share wealth with
humans?
How richer would you, become?
And what if King Solomon allowed you to reaping multi-level
shares in ...

How to Use Short Interest to Measure the Market
Well, it looks like the good days in the stock market are over. At least in the short term. It feels like the day after xmas. You can remember the good times but you know they won't be back for another year. This market is beginning to make many investors twitchy. So don't be surprised if you're feeling the same way. I encouraged folks to hedge their portfolios. Those that remained cautious thru the last couple of months are giggling all the way to the bank. Is it going to get worse? Back in ...

The Nasty Truth About Mutual Funds Investing
Here are some facts that might make many fund investors question
why they have chosen to invest in funds at all.
According to John Bogle, former CEO of Vanguard Funds, one of
the most trusted authorities on investing in mutual funds and a
strong advocate for ordinary investors, such investors typically
get poor returns on their investments. How poor?
Between 1984 and 2002, the average stock fund investor made just
2.7% per year on their fund investments! Hard to believe isn't
it? Yet this is ...

STOCK OPTIONS ARE NOT RISKY!
The words 'derivative' and 'stock option' have become
synonymous with 'high risk' in the public mind. This is an
unfounded belief. Worse still, it is an unfortunate situation
because the truth is that stock options can significantly reduce
risk within your investment portfolio. In fact, exchange traded
options came into being for the purpose of reducing investors'
risk in owning or acquiring stock.
STOCK OWNERSHIP INVOLVES RISK
Many people own stock in one form or another. If you have ...

A simple stock trading system that's free
I am often asked by relatively inexperienced traders whether
there is a simple method that they can use that is consistently
profitable. The answer is yes, and better still, it works in
both a day trading timeframe and a swing trading timeframe.
Heck, it even works if you want to 'buy and hold' your stocks!
Basically, this system allows you to build up chunks of equity
in your favorite companies at effectively zero cost.
Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? Surely it must be a
complicated ...

Forex Trading Strategies - Understanding Fundamental Analysis
Analysis is the backbone of all Forex trading. If you want to succeed in your Forex trading, you must learn to analyze the market and its trends. Fundamental analysis and technical analysis are the two common types. Today, though, we will focus on fundamental analysis and how it is used in the Forex market.
Both political and economic changes can affect the market and currency prices. Fundamental analysis reads these changes and foresees how they will cause the Forex market to rise and fall. ...

FOREX 101
For those unfamiliar with the term, FOREX (FOReign EXchange
market), refers to an international exchange market where
currencies are bought and sold. The Foreign Exchange Market that
we see today began in the 1970's, when free exchange rates and
floating currencies were introduced. In such an environment only
participants in the market determine the price of one currency
against another, based upon supply and demand for that currency.

Is day trading right for you?
Do you have the tolerance for the risk involved with day
trading? Day trading is not a get rich quick business. It is not
technically even investing. This competitive game of day trading
is speculation at its core and the odds are against you in favor
of failure. But for those who crave this type of environment it
can be a very exciting and profitable venture. A study in 1999
found that 70% of day traders lost money and of those that made
money the profits were made from just one trade.

Thomas Edison and the Stock Market
Thomas Edison and the Stock Market Thomas Edison gave his
definition of insanity: 'Endless repeating of the same process,
hoping for a different result.' We are now seeing the stock
market head down again as it did in 2000. Brokers, mutual fund
managers and financial planners hopefully will not be repeating
their same errors that cost investors seven (7) trillion (with a
T) dollars. Unfortunately they will be working with the same
deficient knowledge as before. The financial brethren have ...
